Poland: The Gem of Eastern Europe

I am a graduate student at the Hebrew University, and was lucky enough to earn a fellowship to travel to Poland to study the Holocaust and Polish Jewish relations. However, before, the trip, when people asked me how long I would be in Poland, and I replied three weeks, they were all taken aback.
Returning to the Old Country
By Barbara on August 11, 2010My Bubby (grandmother) died in July of 1965. I was twelve years old. I remember the day of her funeral. It was raining and as we were getting into the car to go to the funeral home my father said, “Just think, we will never have her blintzes again.” My Bubby was from Poland and came to the United States in 1904. She was seventeen years old.
