Have you written a book?

I have self-published over 35 titles, including The Blogger’s Guide series (currently 7 books) at ComoBlog.com.

What gave you the courage to start?

It began as a dream to be an author, and then as a practical way to supplement income while sharing what I had learned with others.

Did you encounter any problems such as writer’s block? If so, how did you overcome them?

My biggest problem is I usually have so much I want to include that getting it all in and then having the time to comb through and edit my work is hard. It is extremely helpful to have someone else, or several people, read through the manuscript, offer advice, feedback, and check for grammar mistakes prior to the final edit.

How did you go about finding a publisher/getting The Blogger’s Guide Series self-published?

I have found the easiest way to publish is to provide ebooks on your own site in the form of PDF downloads. The second easiest way is to publish through Createspace.com which doesn’t cost you anything at all until someone purchases your book. Createspace will also list your book on Amazon for greater reach and can also format the book files for kindle sales as well. The more formats available the higher the probability of sales.

Did anything surprise you about the whole process?

I think I was surprised at how easy it was to self-publish through CreateSpace. The formatting scared me the most initially, but they even provide great templates so it is very easy to self- publish through them.

What advice would you give to someone wanting to write a book, or starting to write one?

Do it sooner, rather than later. Choose a great title. Solve a common problem and you will do well. Be warned that getting a book on amazon or on your site doesn’t guarantee sales. Enlisting others to help you market your book is vital to the success of the book overall.
