About the Author

Elizabeth Pilar is an award-winning short story writer from Detroit. Her first book, A Blue Moon in China (edited by Christopher Ross) was just released. It’s the memoir of the two months Elizabeth traveled through Communist China in 1988 when she was 21 years old. She went alone with $400 in her pocket. The story comes directly from the journal she kept while there. The book in print is available online worldwide. The ebook will be out in October.

Elizabeth is currently writing about – and sorting photographs from – the 8-city book tour she did via Amtrak this summer. She was on the road for 5 weeks. She is also painting little watercolor pictures as thank you gifts for the people who helped on her way.
