About the Author

Born in Westwood, MA, Maddie is currently a resident of Burlington, Vermont. She graduated from Saint Michael’s College with a BA in Anthropology and a concentration in Spanish. With an Anthropology background Maddie has always been interested in cultures and customs from around the world, along with the desire to make a difference through service. Maddie’s study abroad trip to Cusco, Peru in the Fall of 2012 got her hooked on travel and motivated her to continue to do international service work. Maddie is currently the US Program Coordinator at Volunteers For Peace, where she got the opportunity to travel to Nepal. In her free time Maddie enjoys rock climbing, swimming, biking and most other activities in the Vermont outdoors.
