About the Author
Sharon is an event planner, originally from Trinidad and Tobago, she has taken every working holiday visa on offer before landing at a Mining company in Vancouver, B.C.
Sharon, the eldest of five, never saw a future for herself in the small island of Trinidad. At 17 she made use of that Canadian passport and set off to the University of Western Ontario. After that first taste of freedom, and armed with a degree in French, she headed to London, U.K. then to South Korea and then to Australia, twice.
After flittering around the globe she decided to pursue a post grad in Event Management. She opened her own business in Trinidad and spent five years planning mainly weddings for the wealthy.
She only made it to British Columbia in 2017, coming to meet a man she’d met on Eharmony.
Sharon has never been ‘published’ but written countless notes on Facebook.
My job is my life, but the book I’m trying to write, takes the reader on a journey. A story that begins with a unique background. Growing up in the country, on an island where my race represents only 1% of the population. This upbringing gives the woman, the faith, the strength and the smarts to brave the adventures that ensued, in an attempt to escape it all.
