Hi everyone,

We’re excited to meet all of you in Barcelona!  Below is information about packing, our accommodations, and some expenses to keep in mind.

Please send your flight information to [email protected] as soon as you have it. We will send more information as the retreat gets closer. In the meantime, feel free to be in touch with any questions at all and get ready for a wonderful experience!

All the best,
Jackie

Packing

During our retreat, Barcelona’s weather will be about 60F-65F. Some suggested packing items include:

  • Casual attire (we want you to be comfortable)
  • A jacket and scarf
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Toiletries
  • A camera/phone
  • A notebook and pen or laptop (whichever is more comfortable for you)

Our accommodations

We are staying at Hotel Cuatro Naciones. The address is La Rambla 40. The hotel is basic, and its best quality is its location on La Rambla, one of the liveliest main streets of Barcelona.  This is our 7th retreat at this hotel and we we’ve had a wonderful experience each time.

Getting to our accommodations

The T1 bus leaves directly from the airport and stops at Las Rambla. Once you get off, you’ll walk straight down La Rambla for 10/15 minutes until you see the hotel (La Rambla 40).

*If you get lost, you can always call the hotel at +34 933 17 36 24, email or call me directly (+1-917-XXX-XXXX) or ask someone for help.

Checking in and out

You will be able to check into the hotel at 1pm on November 27th. The hotel will check you in early if the room available. We will all meet in the lobby at 5pm for our orientation and first writing workshop. After, we’ll head to dinner together. The retreat ends on December 1st at 11am.

Expenses to keep in mind

Our retreat will be filled with daily writing workshops, touring, museum visits, and of course, eating. All of the visits are already paid for in the cost of the retreat.

Some additional costs to keep in mind are:

*Walking tour: We’ll be taking part in a walking tour of central Barcelona one afternoon. A suggested tip for the guide is 5 euro per person.

*We’ll be getting everywhere via a combination of walking/public transportation. One ride on the Barcelona Metro costs 2.15 euro. A Barcelona metro T-10 card for 10 journeys costs 9.95 euro.

*Breakfast is served from 7am-10:00am, and workshops will begin at 9:00 am. Other meals are not included. There will be food available for every budget.

This Barcelona retreat is one of our highlights of the year, and we can’t wait to meet you! We will jump right into writing on the first day. No preparation necessary.

Looking forward to meeting in Spain!
Jackie
